What is Color Guard ?
About Us
The Central High School Marching Pride Color Guard brings music to life through movement, dance, and visual performance. Performing alongside the marching band, Color Guard members use flags, rifles, sabres, choreography, and other visual elements to help tell the story and enhance the overall theme of each show. Color Guard combines athleticism, creativity, precision, and teamwork, with members learning intricate routines that complement the music and formations of the Marching Pride. Whether performing under the Friday night lights, at competitions, parades, or community events, the Color Guard adds energy, emotion, and visual excitement to every Marching Pride performance.
What is Winter Guard?
Winter Guard is an indoor performance activity that combines dance, choreography, and equipment work using flags, rifles, sabres, and other visual elements. Unlike Color Guard during marching season, Winter Guard performs indoors without the marching band, using recorded music to create an exciting and expressive production. Members develop skills in dance, coordination, performance, teamwork, and equipment technique while competing against other Winter Guard programs throughout the season. Winter Guard gives members of the Central High School Marching Pride an opportunity to continue performing, growing, and representing Central High School beyond the fall marching season.
